Why - What - How

of our existence is crucial to how we have designed our systems and way of addressing "sexuality".

Why: sexuality has been a carpeted part of society for ages, our evolution in this realm has felt suffocated, suppressed and schooled to a large extent

What: so we hope to free the conversation - starting with the freedom of our thoughts, feelings and movements

How: at spaces which allow us to be open and vulnerable - especially created to watch ourselves, hear ourselves and enjoy our own sexual realities

Every spaces is hosted by a sexuality exploration facilitator who might be trained in one or more of the following modalities which we have discovered as the means to this transformation. As we evolve in our mission and commune of facilitators, this page hopes to create space for more and more methods, tools and techniques. Here we are climbing on the shoulders of giants...

Holistic Sexuality Education

A holistic sexuality education curriculum focuses on including multi-dimensional perspectives that can aid a person to fully be informed about their sexuality. Institute of Sexuality Education and Enlightenment (ISEE) provides training to aspiring sexuality educators and therapists to develop holistic designs for their interventions. It involves looking at sexuality from diverse and all-inclusive perspectives.

Theatre of the Oppressed

Are we the free creators of our realities? Are we held hostage others who are more powerful o us, whether physically or mentally? In his book, Paulo Freire extensively showed the reality of how oppression works and Augusto Boal invented a method for us facilitators called Theatre of the Oppressed. We however reach out to our mentors and advisors at Centre for Community Dialogue and Change, Bangalore.

Experiential Education

We see education as transformed through the pioneers of experiential educaton who have devised methods to make classroom learning driven by the journeys of our own choice and curiousities. This is the only way to approach a topic such a s sexuality. As we see it, all other tools and techniques mentioned here are in some way a part of this umbrella approach. Our mentors hail from the Experiential Leadership Institute Pune.

Dance Movement Therapy

Many of us who are in the space for wellness related to body, have discovered that the language of the body is movement. Through Dance Movement Therapy we have received ways of bringing the experiences and locked memories of our bodies to our realities, watch them and learn from them.

Integrative Arts

When we first saw magic being created by our mentors Mayuree Pandit and Leslie Nazareth, we were swooning in the world of stories, music and visuals that they created. None of the spaces we create are complete without a story to tell or stories to be heard and co-created together.

Play for Peace

Through play and lighthearted fun, we often make friends in alien spaces. And if responsible facilitators are able to create a space for conflicting parties to come and just play together, peace may take shape in the form of empathy and compassion. We have learned from our friends and mentors at the Play for Peace commune.

Clinical Psychology

Many sexual identities and the journeys of becoming them, coincide with journeys of our childhood, traumas, healing and grief cycles. Behaviour patterns and personality types or beings with varied learning styles often need different mechanisms of safety within a workshop space. Concepts of Dr. Gabor Mate, Emily Nagoski and other inspiring authors come to our aid through counselling psychologists who often double shift as facilitators with us!

Tantra and Spiritual Practices

Many spiritual teachers across the tantra world bring their own flavour of looking at sexuality. The practices that inspire us are those that are carefully designed keeping participant's consent, safety and exploration in mind. Some of the great teachers we have gifted us with their magic are Dhyan Samya, Dharamraj Ohlan, Samarth and Silver Lotus.

We also inform ourselves from techniques and patterns of evolutions observed by Richard Rudd in his invention of the Gene Keys.

Systems Thinking Practice

Readings, books and online courses on Acumen Academy have informed us and often put our existing project designs to test! We have specifically used this way of approaching problems we witness on field because of the complexity and intersectionality that sexuality brings.
